DERA has volunteer opportunities for the following committees:

If you have an interest in one or more of these committees, please email Lisa or call DERA (303) 688-0941.

Ambassador Committee

Ambassadors are active volunteers from various backgrounds who serve as goodwill representatives of DERA. They work to support and promote the member community by working to increase member participation and recruit potential new members. They support and mentor new members to help build rapport, make new business contacts, encourage participation in DERA events and form lasting relationships.

Builder Realty Council (BRC)

This person or persons acts as a liaison between the Builder Realty Council (BRC) and DERA. They attend BRC meetings and report back to DERA on a monthly basis. They promote BRC events and benefits of membership in BRC.

Colorado Association of REALTORS® Housing Opportunity Fund (CARHOF)

Here is a distinguished opportunity to serve at the state level and help affordable housing at the same time. As a CARHOF member, you would solicit and review for recommendation, recipients of CARHOF funds and promote broker participation in CARHOF.

Education Committee

This committee determines which classes will have the most value in current market conditions, and selects and develops interesting and exciting educational programs around those findings to best fit the member’s needs.

Events Committee

DERA has many events throughout the year from social to charity fund raising.  Members of this committee enjoy planning and coordinating the many aspects of a successful event including venue, sponsorships, food and beverages, entertainment etc…

Government Affairs Committee

Now more than ever, our industry is subject to regulations and proposed laws that can make your life as a REALTOR® difficult. The Government Affairs Committee reviews local city and county issues and proposals that impact our business. They make recommendations to the DERA Board of Directors on policy positions and strategies to benefit the real estate industry.

Inaugural Committee

While this is an annual event, this is a standalone committee charged with planning, organizing and gathering sponsorships for the installation of the incoming Board of Directors and the annual Of the Year awards ceremony.

Issues Mobilization Committee

This purpose of this committee is to educate REALTORS® on state and local public policy issues that impact members of the Colorado Association of REALTORS® (CAR) and the surrounding community. They are devoted to building grassroots support for REALTORS® and enhancing the quality of life enjoyed by the communities in which we live and work.

Marketing & Economic Forum Committee

Here is an opportunity to participate in a program that is exclusive to DERA. As a member, you would schedule guest speakers and identify issues of importance to the Highlands Ranch, Castle Rock, Parker and Elizabeth areas. These forums are held each quarter.

Professional Standards Committee

This committee is for those who truly want to help members adhere to the Code of Ethics. After training, you would have the opportunity to serve on panels for ethics and arbitration hearings as needed.

Political Survival Fund (PSF) Committee

PSF gives you an opportunity to elect and support candidates who understand what will keep your business going strong. When REALTORS® from across the state come together, we have a powerful voice on taxing, fees, regulations and other issues that will create a healthy business climate for REALTORS® and support the private property rights of all Coloradans. PSF is funded entirely by voluntary dues. Members of this committee help educate the membership of what it is, and how they can contribute and/or participate.

Public Relations Committee

Public Relations Committee members help DERA promote programs and activities in a variety of ways to DERA members and the community to enhance the REALTOR® image.

Technology Committee

This committee evaluates the current and future needs of DERA with regards to Technology. From office hardware and software upgrades and issues, to cutting edge technology that benefits the members.
